I bought this as recommended by a dashcam forum, as both dashcams in my wife's Golf had become detached. The front camera was incorrectly placed the first time, and had to be moved, and then wouldn't stick well. The rear dashcam had to be attached to a textured plastic piece of trim and the adhesive supplied with the camera just wasn't upto the job; it'd stick for a day or 2 then fall off.

This 3M tape however has been rock solid for about a month now. If you have a similar application, give it a go! The adhesion seems much stronger than the usual dual sided foam pads/tape.

Reading some of the other bad reviews I think they may have received a fake product. Mine came perfectly packed in the 3M box with serial numbers, the works - if its fake its a pretty good one. Having said that - I have to agree with the sentiment of others that rated their (fake or real) product as having little staying power. I used mine in a number of applications including holding the standard 3M pin plate you normally get with the command strips in place (you would think it holds better than the command strips but it doesn't) to putting up perspex shelves for die-cast cars. All applications were very low stress holding up either a picture, mirror, small shelf etc. ALL applications failed within a month! Normally coming off in the middle of the night (most likely due to a small decrease in temperature - I don't think we have a ghost problem). This product is rated to work outdoors so I thought indoors should be a doddle. Very disappointed. The only thing that does hold true is that the transparent tape is virtually invisible - it looked really good with the transparent perspex shelves (the reason I thought it in the first place). Pity it couldnt do the job.

Whenever something fails to stick - like all these plastic cable clips with adhesive surface that fail to stick for more than a few minutes, the wall lights, hooks for clothes or even audio speakers - the 3M tape always saves the day. It didn't fail even once and I would recommend it to anyone who needs really strong but easy to use tape.

I bought this to mount a dash-cam on the wind screen of my car but it does not hold it for very long and its not exactly a big heavy camera.

I used this tape to install perspex windows onto stainless steel frames in a yacht. The frames were thoroughly cleaned with Emery paper and then wiped down with isopropyl alcohol until the cloth with the alcohol remained clean.
The tape was applied to the perspex, then the backing tape removed and th window pushed into place with 2mm temporary spacers all around.
The Windows went in easily and cleanly with no mess.
An excellent product.

Its able to stick things together yeah but its quite overrated, wasn't able to stick my plastic arch to my car which was a bit disappointing, works great on go pro's though and other small objects(will come off if submersed or gets very wet(dampness wont effect it))!!

Very sticky, certainly holds heavy items without worry.
My particular use was to fix a automotive dash cam to screen, and also a mobile phone mount in the car.
Just clean area that will be fixed to with methylated Spirits first.

I used this to re-attach hinges on a glass bathroom cabinet door, so thats glass on one side and some sort of alloy on the other. Although I haven't put it under strain, the bond seems very secure.

Actually the door fell off 6 month later, so not as good as I'd hoped.

I used this to bond a cars rear spoiler on.
It's bond is instant! If you mess up and badly align what you're sticking, you'll have a nightmare getting this off.
Brilliant for its intended use in my case.
